George Ward

George Ward of Brewton, AL is a direct descendant of South Carolina Revolutionary Patriot Thomas Ward, buried at this cemetery in 1845. It was George that first located the old abandoned cemetery in 2003.  In 2005, George, almost single handed, restored the cemetery to it's present 'excellent condition' through many months of hard work and dedicated efforts. 

Also, it was George Ward that personally designed and crafted the large new "Ward-Witherington Cemetery" sign at the site.
